Radio Nord, a swedish offshore radio station that had a big impact on swedish radio. Radio Nord commenced broadcast in 8 March 1961. It was silenced 16 months later (Midnight 1 July 1962) by the Swedish Government.During that period was a top list showing most wanted records in Sweden. Listeners wrote their wishes with a letter. The program was send every Wednesday.

4 May 1961 Sveriges Radio start its music channel (Melodiradion). In the beginning it was transmitted on the old channel P1 and P2 on its free time. They started the program special for young people "Tio i Topp" on Saturdays at 15:00. After 1964 it was regulary in new channel P3.
